This session was a little different than usual…you see Laura and Woody have actually been married for several years, but because they eloped on Halloween, they never had wedding photos taken. These two LOVE Halloween and all things fall. Laura has been dying to finally have some wedding photos to display, so we scheduled their long overdue session at Old City Cemetery at the end of October. They came with orange and black details of course…Laura even had a plastic spider in her veil piece. Woody wore a grape soda cap pin like the one in the movie “Up” because they also are big Disney fans. I just loved how they embraced their details and made it theirs! They are both some of the most creative people you’ll meet and it was absolutely my privilege to be the one they chose to capture the wedding photos they had waited so long to have.
Old City Cemetery has become a popular spot for photography sessions. When I’ve asked people in the past where they want to do their sessions and I’ve suggested the cemetery, some people have raised an eyebrow or two…that is until they go. There are so many tree covered grounds where you would just think you’re in the woods instead of the middle of a cemetery. Yes, there are headstones, but most are small and confined to certain areas and completely out of the way for photos. We loved the small, white chapel…the stone archway…the cobblestone and paver pathways…and of course the abundance of fall trees boasting their shades of oranges, reds, yellows, and greens. I just absolutely love this place in the fall!
