This gorgeous fall wedding in South Boston, VA was magical. I can’t describe it any other way. When I started editing these photos, I just couldn’t believe all the elements that came together, from the sunset light, the HUGE full moon we didn’t even realize was happening, and the genuine emotion we were able to capture,…and this couple. Oh, this couple. I’d like to say that all couples are just so in love on their wedding day, but these two? I’ve never quite seen such raw emotion. I’m pretty certain I’ve cried at every wedding I’ve photographed. This one was no different. If you are looking for a South Boston Va Wedding Photographer, give me a call! DIY never looked so good.

This couple made a couple of ordinary locations into extraordinary locations. Using the field at a local park, they hauled endless hay bales and beautiful quilts in for ceremony seating. The sun was just as rich in color as it could have been. I have to say their ceremony was unique to them with many personal touches that I truly loved watching…and since it lasted a little bit longer than most I was a little worried we were going to miss sunset portraits as the sun sunk closer to the trees. But, they finished just as they should have because sunset light magic happened. And after we were happy with those incredible pictures, we went to pack up and head to the reception and discovered a huge full moon and had to take advantage of that. The reception was held at an old school and they seriously made that old gym look like fairytale heaven with a multitude of lights strung from the ceiling. The whole bridal party was in on a surprise flash mob to “Shut Up and Dance With Me” and the matron of honor’s toast was basically a Broadway production…best I’ve ever seen!

I am thrilled that Karen Setliff Photography asked me to second shoot this wedding with her. I stopped taking weddings until October 2017 due to my pregnancy. So I’ll only be doing small sessions and second shooting for the next year. Can’t wait to get started back up again, but I also can’t wait to meet my 2nd baby!
